Style Kick Up for Naperville Master Bath

Stepping into comfort & relaxation anytime of the day is easy!   Walk in & discover how easy it is to “Kick it Up”….   Many of our clients our shifting gears and changing their home addresses. Consequently, these moves often require kicking up some of the existing conditions and claiming the home as “theirs”.   This Naperville Master Bath had some recent updates that laid the groundwork for a “spa” like space. The oversized stone shower, step in claw foot tub, double sinks and private toilet room shaped a functional retreat. Our client’s goal was to add their personal style and enhance the luxury of the bath….creating a true spa retreat. Incorporating the existing Carrara marble floor, stone shower & lighting, current trends of classic white glazed cabinets, Calacatta Gold marble counters and an air jet tub updated the existing framework with a touch of luxury. Simple plate glass mirrors keep the space light while adding visual dimension. The existing chrome light fixures add just the right balance of style and sparkle.  The smoke blue and white large scale wallpaper maintains a classic, cool feel with a punch of energy. Maintaining the integrity of the elements that are functional and remodeling tired materials to reflect current trends, provides you an easy path to create a retreat for your home. Naperville “Master-peace” Bath

Posted by on Sep 23, 2013 in Bathrooms, Blog, Featured Projects, Uncategorized | 1 comment

Not unlike many Naperville homes, Dennis & Katie’s master bath is compact. Their bath is efficient in the use of space and conveniently located as part of their master bedroom. With their children’s college years complete, Dennis & Katie decided it was their master bath’s turn for some attention! The keys to success for this Naperville master bath remodel were to create a larger shower, add more storage, improve overall lighting and give the bath a more current vibe.   Looking beyond the limits of this 5′ x 8′ bath, the demolition enlarged the shower by removing existing soffits & pushed the shower wall to the entire width of the bath. Increased storage came with the new counter height bath cabinet , complete with drawers & pull out shelves.  The recessed, wall mounted, mirrored medicine cabinet, topped off storage enhancements. Things got brighter with the two LED wall scones surface mounted on a full height custom beveled vanity mirror.   Introducing calm, natural materials transformed this ordinary master bath into a “Master-peace” Bath. Using large scale rectangular tile on the floors and shower created a feeling of spaciousness in this small space. Running down the center of the shower wall, natural river rock stone in soft sea-glass tones adds subtle texture and movement to the space. Espresso finish on the cabinet adds contrast the to the tile and creme marfil marble counter top.  A flip down teak shower seat discreetly adds seating and a spa touch to the shower. Use of over-sized vanity mirror adds the illusion of space and great reflection of light for dressing. Chrome finished plumbing & bath accessories add a touch of sparkle. The use of the sea-glass color paint on the walls and ceiling contribute to the overall serenity of this Naperville “Master-peace“. Who knew such a peaceful place could exist in a 5 x 8 Master Bath in Naperville?   ...

Bath Tranformed for NOW!

Newlyweds, Kirsten & Denis decided it was time to bite the bullet and settle in the “burbs”. They found a gently loved home in Wheaton. While the home needed some updating, they felt the quiet Wheaton neighborhood was perfect & they could take their time remodeling. At the Top of their project list was the master bath that they use daily. While small in size and tired in appeal, their  vision saw great potential beyond the existing bath. Demolition tore everything out, leaving just 4 walls to be their guide, and the remodeling adventure began. First priority was to add light to the dark space. The horizontal window added to the shower wall brightened up the room immediately. A clean lined, white, wall hung vanity enhanced the feeling of spaciousness in this small bath. Large scale rectangular tiles, installed vertically on the shower wall, running up from the floor incorporated a feeling of height in the space. Adding bamboo floor planks horizontally on the bath wall created a warm texture against the understated tile. Chrome finished faucets and plumbing fixtures brought just enough bling to the space to add sparkle and light. Playing up the understated materials & accessories completed this contemporary style bath remodel. Bubbles in the Master Bath

After moving to an established neighborhood in Naperville, Ed & Nicole initially tweaked their first floor living space to accommodate their taste and lifestyle for their active young family. At long last,  they were ready to attack the upstairs bedrooms and at last remodel their master bath. Priorities for Ed & Nicole’s master bath were to  reconfigure their shower/toilet room area, rework the whirlpool tub area and redesign the vanity storage and sink layout. Like so many Naperville master baths of the 90’s the space planning needing updating and the appointments were tired. By combining the shower and toilet room areas to one space, it was possible to enlarge the shower, create visual access to the shower and add a private shower/toilet room.  The existing window was replaced with a glass block panel window, giving privacy while adding light to the space. Creating two individual dressing areas within the vanity space gave Ed & Nicole their much needed elbow room with plenty of storage. Removing the whirlpool tub & stairs eliminated a potentially dangerous situation for use of the whirlpool. Installing a soaking tub with easy access enhanced the tub’s safety and practical use. Classic material selections created a warm environment with a sense of timelessness and a touch of whimsy. Cabinet doors are a soft edge transitional style with a white glazed finish. Cambria counter-tops in earth tones provide contrast and visual weight to the light cabinets. The porcelain tiles in a taupe marble like pattern connect the understated finishes. Using large rectangular tiles on the floor and shower walls enhance the proportion of the elements in the master bath space. The “bubble” glass tile mosaic adds texture, color & a touch of whimsy to this inviting master bath remodel. Understated satin nickel finishes on the lights, fans & plumbing completes the classic color scheme.   This Naperville master bath remodel can consider Ed & Nicole’s priorities met and accomplished in style! Time  for “Bubbles” in the Bath, wouldn’t you...

Kitchen Remodeling Ideas at home in Wheaton

Sometimes don’t you just want your kitchen to be new, with classic style? Well, that’s how Joe & Patti from Wheaton felt about their 20+ year old kitchen. They were well overdue for their small kitchen to be updated! The existing 80’s kitchen told the story of what was current in their Wheaton neighborhood at that time- soffits above upper cabinets, dark walnut colored cabinets, dark floors & ceiling fans with lights! This kitchen had great “bones”.  Incorporating current kitchen remodeling ideas to their project was all that was needed for this transformation. Classic white cabinets with dark granite, natural oak floors and can lights with hanging pendants created a perfect environment for Joe & Cathy’s kitchen remodel. Eliminating the soffits made way for more storage, with additional pantry space on the refrigerator wall. Removing the knee wall at the family room, opened the spaces for ease of entertaining and traffic flow. Open shelves at the kitchen window and end of the peninsula added places for books & accessories. (See more projects photos) Enjoying a new kitchen in their Wheaton home, Joe & Patti are here to stay!...
