Front Door Focus in Aurora

This Aurora home is a wonderful example of homes built in the late 1980’s with brick and dryvit exteriors. The entry with it’s rounded turret evokes a subtle French castle style. Our client  was ready for some exterior remodeling ideas, with focus on the front door entrance to her home. This beautiful setting was asking for a more welcoming entrance to her Aurora home. The main design idea for exterior remodeling was to add stone to the existing turret . The stone added texture and color, while separating the turret from the rest of the front exterior elevation. The installation of brick pavers to the entry walk brought another layer of  texture & warmth. Adding the portico renewed focus on the front entry door, with stain glass window. The portico adds visual attention and weather protection to the front entrance of this Aurora home. The copper on the portico will weather with time and to match the color of the brackets. The copper roof on the portico compliments the door, adding warmth while mixing warm & cool tones. Interesting pattern in the walkway guides you to an inviting front door. New lighting fixtures blend and hi-light the new design elements. The main focal point of the Aurora home now says  “Welcome” to all it’s visitors!  See project photo...

Make it Mine!

Just like you, many of our clients move into their homes with the intent of transforming the living spaces to reflect who they are and their family’s lifestyle. The Lowes were ready to make their Naperville home THEIRS! Their vision for freshening up their kitchen, creating an open floor plan for entertainment and adding their style to the overall interiors made for a first class renovation. The Lowes main focus was updating their kitchen. Reconfiguring the perimeter cabinets, adding a glazed paint finish to the cabinets and removing the  upper wall between the dining room and kitchen began the kitchen’s transformation. Leaving the existing island and granite in place added contrast in color to the design changes. Clear vision through the dining room, kitchen and family room added open flow for entertaining. Layering complimentary wall colors through the space keep the rooms separate, yet connected. The custom diamond patterned stained floor from the entry through the kitchen enhances the “WOW”. The diamond pattern navigates you through the spaces, while subtly widening a small entry and narrow kitchen. With the addition of wood floor in the home office, living room and dining room, the Lowes home is now THEIRS! See this projects photos on our facebook...

Warming up with your Family!

Getting ready to move family time indoors was front of mind for the Broderick family. With an active 3 yr. old and ready to move 9 month old, creating room for their combined energy was huge! Priorities for their Naperville basement remodel was a budget friendly kid space, with plenty of room for family entertainment. Key to the success of their project was adding floor heat to keep everyone’s feet, toes and hands warm year round. Adjacent to the play space, centrally located to  plumbing access, rests the wet bar and powder room.  The TV/entertainment area nestles in with plenty of room for everyone to watch TV, a movie or engage in whatever game suits the group! Using movable ceiling tile in this area allows for access to mechanical equipment. Combining the use of ceiling tiles and drywall on the ceiling maximizes ceiling heights, while creating seamless transitions between the activity areas. The Brodericks are ahead of the curve and ready for the change of seasons and holiday fun. Warming up in their remodeled basement couldn’t be easier! Come, join in the fun!
