What makes a kitchen memorable?  For me it is the kitchens that use materials and touches in a creatively personal way that tells me about the people living in the home. It isn’t necessarily a showpiece kitchen; but rather, a well designed layout with appliances that matter because someone loves to cook.

Finding those elements that tell your story can be part of your design process. Sometimes these pieces exist already around you and just need to be incorporated. Others, may need the aid of a designer to help you tell your story.  Houzz blogger, Cathy Larra, offers creative applications in kitchens that truly set the stage for “memorable” spaces.  Often it is the simple, unexpected elements that create a fabulous space. Wouldn’t you agree?
